Partial Discharge Detection and Defect Location Method in GIS Cable Terminal

The complex structure of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) cable terminals leads to serious electric field concentration, which is a frequent fault position high-voltage system. At present, due the differences in frequency bands sensors, various partial discharge detection technologies have certain their scope application and anti-interference performance, resulting low defect rate GIS terminals. In this paper, comprehensive diagnosis scheme proposed, integrates transient earth voltage (TEV), ultra-high (UHF), high (HF), ultrasonic methods. Two abnormal defects two 220 kV substations Tianjin were tracked monitored, joint was carried out using proposed scheme; type phase sequence determined, UHV employed precisely locate analyze source. Finally, through disassembly analysis simulation terminal, accuracy effectiveness location method verified, providing typical demonstration for terminal.
